At her graveside, the day I buried her, my brother had 100 pink balloons released. It was an awesome sight, all those balloons, varying shades of pink against a crystal blue sky. So every year, on January 19th...a single pink balloon floats to heaven and its been that way for the past 16 years. Tonight, my almost 16 year old son went out and bought a single pink balloon. The clerk asked him if it was for his girl and he said yeah, its for my sister, she's my girl. I just smiled and turned away so no one could see the tears.
